Acquisition/development opportunity

We're offering two fully developed, video-based sites for sale. They are:

• www.jokeofthedayTV.com, featuring:
  • a daily joke told on video (the host is for demonstration purposes only)
  • archives of past videos
  • text of current and past jokes
  • interactive rating system
  • “share a joke” postings by web site visitors
  • interactive funny quotes; also, rotating puns
  • the ability to accept visitor video submissions
    
    
• www.funfactofthedayTV.com, featuring:
  • a daily fun fact/bit of trivia told on video (the host is for demonstration purposes only)
  • archives of past videos
  • text of current and past fun facts
  • interactive rating system
  • “share a fun fact” postings by web site visitors
  • interactive Q & As; also, rotating fast facts
  • the ability to accept visitor video submissions

Currently, both are professionally hosted, shot, and edited. The sites are also set up to accept user-generated video – the buyer could choose to feature professional video, UGV, or a combination of both. (The benefit to UGV is that there are no studio/talent/production costs and it encourages visitor participation.)

The two sites have been showing reruns for several months. Prior to going into reruns, they were ranked as high as 128K on Alexa (ranking went from 9.8 million at launch to 128K within two months). The sites also received positive media attention from all over the country, both print and broadcast, with some radio stations airing the audio on a weekly – and even daily – basis.

The sites were created to be sold; as such, marketing on the sites has been extremely minimal (mostly media outreach), nor is there any plan to market the sites.

Opportunities
These fully developed, turnkey web sites can:

• be adapted to the buyer’s preferences (for example: sites geared toward teens or children, with teen or kid hosts; or towards a more mature audience, with racier material)
• receive increased traffic instantly, if cross-promoted with other sites the buyer may already own
• earn revenue through various types of advertising, including ads in or sponsorships of the videos
• be used solely as an advertising vehicle for a company (for example, a game manufacturer could replace all the AdSense ads with ads for that company’s games), utilizing advertising opportunities on the site and in the videos
  

Content production/site maintenance & new development
One month’s site maintenance is included in the acquisition package. In that time, we’re also available to transition the sites in accordance with the buyer’s preferences (to UGV, for example, or if the buyer wanted a different type of content and/or different hosts).

We can continue to create the video and written content and maintain the sites, if that’s the buyer’s preference. We can estimate those monthly costs for qualified buyers. We’re also available to develop new sites in the series (using the undeveloped domains that come with the package).
